Why can't I link my bank account?
There are several reasons why bank account linking may fail. Please check the following:
- Make sure the bank account is under the name of the user who completed identity verification.
- Only one bank account per bank can be linked. If the bank does not appear in the list during account linking, check if another account from the same bank is already linked. If so, please remove it first.
- Confirm that you’ve enabled online banking, non-designated transfers, and OTP SMS verification with your bank.
- Each bank has different linking requirements. Click here for detailed guidelines. Some banks require that your registered mobile number and email match what’s on file with JKOPAY. If an error appears during linking, please contact your issuing bank to confirm.
I don’t recall registering with JKOPAY. Why do I already have a JKOPAY account?
You may have previously purchased cross-border items on Shopee. If you have made such purchases, your JKOPAY account would have been created upon completing real-name verification to proceed with the order. If a refund is issued, the funds will be returned to your JKOPAY account, and you may withdraw the amount to your personal bank account. According to Article 14 of the “Rules Governing the Administration of Electronic Payment Business,” cross-border transactions must be conducted through domestic electronic payment service providers. In accordance with the “Regulations Governing Identity Verification Mechanism and Transaction Amount Limits of Electronic Payment Institutions,” buyers are required to complete one-time real-name verification. Therefore, Shopee collaborates with a cross-border payment service provider (JKOPAY) approved by the competent authority to offer identity verification and payment services for Shopee users.
